Soft Bank Services January 1996 - November 1996 Packaging & Inventory San Leandro, CA

-Worked for eleven months started as in the shipping department packaging.

-Moved to work on a warehouse project to do location movements, identifying & labling locations, moving and relocating products to new locations, inputting new locations in the system this was completed successfully.

-Moved to the inventory department where I learnt about location verification, auditing, updating the system, researching cycle counts, making cycle count sheets, doing shipping audits, doing daily and weekly reports and making adjustments to the system to read correct numbers.

-I then temporarily stood in for the inventory control supervisor during her maternity leave during this time I did the weekly and daily reports on the inventory what has come in what has gone out and presented to the managers.

-I did the year end inventory which was 98% proof. I also helped install 3 new software systems for the warehouse and had them running successfully.

-Before leaving I trained 2 people on the job.

I was an on air presenter for the night owl for three months. I was also a production assistant in charge of the technical aspects of the station and produced, radio programs, features, and spots. In traffic I scheduled all spots and paid programs and managed all clients’ accounts. I maintained the daily revenue reports and worked with accounts to balance end month accounts.

Nation Media Group (Nation Fm & TV) October 1999 - March 2001 Traffic Manager Nairobi
I joined Nation FM & TV in the pre-launch phase and set up the traffic, administrative and program system and trained reporters and sales staff in media programming management and development. I researched and monitored the Population Council/Nation Media Group health program. This gave me a wide exposure in reporting and monitoring reproductive health issues in the broadcast & print media. I edited, produced and read Nation FM’s internet news. I read the news during weekends for Nation FM and also researched, wrote, and read the business news stock reports for both television and radio.

Radio Salaam Project 2004 - 2005
This was a project that I participated on as a consultant. I was part of the team that worked on setting up and advising on programming on the new station. I was also part of the team that was recruiting and training the programs manager, IT manager, and traffic manager. It is now currently on air at the coast.

98.4 Capital FM May 2004 - June 2004 Project Manager Nairobi
I was awarded to head an expansion project at 98.4 capital Fm after a change of management there was to be an upgrade of the software’s that are used by the station for broadcasting. I was chosen after giving recommendations and doing research on the broadcast software’s in the industry. I was privileged to go to RCS South Africa for a one-week training on their airwaves traffic software and a bit on their master control and selector software’s.

I was heading the project in Nairobi and it went well and successfully and went on air on the 4th of June with the new software’s which were, RCS master control, RCS airwaves, RCS tracker, burli, adobe edition and upgrade of RCS selector we have now been on air with the successful implementation of the new software’s.

98.4 Capital FM March 2001 - Present Traffic Manager Nairobi
I maintain and manage all client bookings on the station. This includes preparing daily revenue reports and monthly accounts reconciliation’s with the accounts department. I work with all departments and troubleshoot whenever there is a perceived or identified problem. I also work with presenters and reporters on program production. I assist in giving ideas to improve and upgrade the station as a whole from sales, marketing, programs, and news departments. I assist in commercial production and read commercials to be aired on the station. I also work very closely with the general manager to improve and come up with ways of getting more revenue into the station I work closely with GM and give ideas on sales, programs, production how to improve and grow. I’m also being trained on telamar which is a Steadman software for research and finding ways to gain from researches that are carried out by Steadman.
