Voice Description
My voice is your basic Baritone/Bass with a good "head" voice that allows me to do cartoon voices and some silly accents. People describe it as warm, friendly, cheerful yet I can do the serious side of things just as easily. Fairly wide range lends itself to documentary and instructional type reads but is powerful enough to do everything from infomercials to news reads to high pressure "Buy now!" ads. It is considered clear, with a neutral Canadian accent (if there is such a thing.)

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
New Yawk! Brooklyn, I can do a mean Ulsterman..I even fooled an Irishman that I was from County Armagh! I lived in England and delighted in annoying a Welsh house-mate by imitating his accent and getting him in trouble with his girlfriend when I imitated his voice to tell her off on the phone. My Scots accent is good but annoying and I can do a variety of English and Scandinavians.
Living near Brampton I can do a mean Pakistani/ Indian "very very good" accent....I mean I could even work in a convenience store with such an accent.
Part-French Canadian, de accent she come natural, by gar!, I can do a read in French., Spanish both Antonio Banderas as Puss in Boots type stuff and a rather mocking Speedy Gonzales a la Mel Blanc
My Voice Experience
Math teacher with a great trained voice!! Radio broadcasting and voice helped put me through university but being kind of mixed up I got a math degree instead!! Yep, I'm a math teacher and department head (and a good one too - give me a voice gig I'll tutor your kids!) with a past in theatre and another degree in radio broadcasting. Former news reader, reporter and announcer on major market station then went back to use my math degree. As I approach retirement I now want to get back into voice work and will start out part time. Strong public speaker. Can be persuasive, friendly, brash. I read names and awards at convocations, mc various events..but my true passion is in the studio. Advantage: because I have been out of it for years my voice is still "new" in all markets.
My Training
A variety of drama courses, workshops and productions in my younger days. MC at school functions and announcer at commencements. 4 university degrees but most importantly I am an honors Graduate of Humber College (Toronto) in Radio Broadcasting.(3rd in the class) Completed voice over workshops and a demo preparation workshop with Voiceworx (Mike Kirby), Toronto.
My Studio Equipment
Right now I am using a voice card, hooked up to a Dell computer. The Mic is a MXL DRK and I have a set up with sufficient sound baffling that the ambient noises are not picked up. I live in the country north of Toronto and do not have easy access to a studio out here but if you have a studio within 100 miles of Toronto I'll be there.
Additional Skills
Teacher..use me for ed. stuff - writing, reporting skills. Wide range of "head voices". Computer literate. Some technical background. Commercial pilot and commercial radio licenses. Some science background - I can read technical reports and scientific tomes with understanding. I can supply a full resume for anyone who is interested. I would love to get a gig as the corporate voice of a tv or radio station or a company...but basically will do anything...on hold messages, greetings, any voiceovers at all.
