Voice Description

When narrating a story or a documentary, I use a rich tone with a tender yet purposeful nature. With warmth and confidence, my voice-overs become powerful vehicles to guide listeners through a piece.

My Voice Experience

My voice is my profession.

I currently work as a broadcaster, hosting a nationally-syndicated news and public affairs program, conducting interviews with people from all over the world.

In my work, I lend my voice to documentary productions, public service announcements (PSAs), interviews, and voice-overs for foriegn-language news pieces. My voice has reached people all over the world as a tool of communication. It is something that I am very proud of.

I have studied music and tone since I was a child, and studied for many years in the field of recording arts. I consider my voice to be my instrument, my pen, and my sword.

My Training

At the age of 16, I trained at Youth Radio in Berkeley, California, learning how to develop a radio voice and explore the art of radio broadcasting. Now, at 27, my eleven years of training and experience continues to open doors.

In just three years of working at my current position in Pacifica Radio, I went from intern to being the youngest Senior Producer and Host of a daily, national news program in the network.

I graduated in 2004 from the New College of California with a BA in Humanities.

Additional Skills

I am able to be both serious and comical, strong yet gentle in my delivery. I am intuitive with the way I narrate and bring out a story, as it interweaves with the subject matter.

As a mother, one of my greatest joys is to tell stories to my young child -- knowing that with just the right amount of sparkle, or seriousness, or cleverness in the narration, a story can stay with her for a long, long time!
