Voice Description

My voice has been described as calm,soothing, warm, and serious, drawing people's attention. I have been the voice for nonprofit fundraising commercials, a fun voice talking about children and families. Since I signed on, I have experienced a stroke which has left me with FAS, Foreign Accent Syndrome. My previous "non accent" voice that I studied so hard to perfect is now delightfully accented with what is described as Afri/Caribe/Latina. My voice still comes through as most sincere. I can read Spanish. My accent in Spanish is proper and formal, more Castellian and is a second language studied for 15 years.

My Voice Experience

My experience has been in the not for profit industry where I have done voice talent for video fund raising. I have done voiceover for a commercial spot, voice mail greetings and messages. My voice is featured on a recently produced CD doing spoken word for a federally funded project. I wrote six additional pieces for the CD that were performed by others.

My Training

I have an undergraduate degree in Speech Communications and English. I am a certified Anger Management Facilitator and professional trainer and workshop facilitator. My courses included Radio-Television Announcing, Voice Science: Phonetics and Voice and Diction, Business and Porfessional Speaking, Techniques of Persuasion, Advanced Public Speaking, and Argumentation and Advocacy.
