Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
As stated in my short description, my voice is very chameleonlike. At times I'll take on the accent or dialect of my environment. However, I have the ability to turn these attributes on and off. I'm from Washington DC where the accent is very distinct. However, when I went to college people weren't able to guess where I was from initially just by listening to my voice. I can be a southern "hood" bell, can be corporate proper. I also took a voice and diction class in 2006 that honed my West African/ West Indian accents.
My Voice Experience
I do voice overs every month and have been doing so for about 4 years now. A number of my mother's friends both male and female have called our house thinking they were speaking to the head of the household when they were actually talking to me. I mention this to say that I think I have "middle age female" voice under my belt. I have also taken an audio production class where I did a few voice overs for news, weather and traffic, as well as a character on a group project radio show.
My Training
I obtained a BA Degree in Mass Communication from North Carolina Central University, where my classess included public speaking, voice and diction, and audio production.
My Studio Equipment
I have access to equipment at my church. I have experience with Quick Edit Pro.
