Voice Description

I am an American whose family moved to Sao Paulo (Brazil) when I was five. Was educated down there so I have perfect command of the Portuguese language. Learned Spanish here in the US, so I can record in three languages: English, Portuguese and Spanish. My voice can change from professional and proper to sexy and/or fun, depending on what the job requests.

My Voice Experience

I worked with sports broadcast/voice overs (golf, tennis, olympics, gymnastics, bowling, water and winter sports), live and taped, since early 1992 for ESPN INTERNATIONAL (Bristol, CT), TBS (Atlanta, GA), PSN - Panamerican Sports Network (Hollywood, FL). I also voiced over documentaries for Discovery Channel in Portuguese (Miami, FL) for over three years before they transfer their operations to Sao Paulo, BRZ. All together I have over 16 years of voice over experience and love the job. I am willing to travel, am dependable and never had an unsatisfied client. Between 1992 and 1996, while working at ESPN INTERNATIONAL, I was considered "the best talent on the air (Portuguese language)".

My Training

I have degrees in Journalism and Philosophy; specialization in TV Journalism (Qualification Course by Rede Globo de Televisao, SAO PAULO-Brazil). Worked as a TV anchor and reporter in Sao Paulo for 5 years, did Radio Broadcast also while leaving there and became a voice over after moving back to the US. My first job here, as I said above, was at ESPN INTERNATIONAL, where I worked for 4 years; after that wonderful experience I was hired by TBS-TNT to do golf broadcast specifically (for almost 4 years). After that I worked for PSN, in Florida, until the company closed (it lasted 2 years). I continue to do voice overs whenever I'm invited but I need more contacts so I can have more jobs.

Additional Skills

I can translate Portuguese to English or Spanish and vice-versa, have literary understanding of Italian and French also. I obviously do simultaneous (live) translations between those languages also, whenever necessary (English to Portuguese/Portuguese to English and Spanish to English but not English to Spanish. It means I have perfect understanding of the Spanish language but don't speak it PERFECTLY, which is why I offer myself to translate Spanish to English and not the other way around). I am also a prize winner journalist, extremely versatile, with proven capacity to report and analyse a vast diversity of subjects, from Economics and Politics to Social Issues, Arts and Entertainment, Sports, Philosophy, History, Anthropology, Science etc. I am a great communicator, very patient, responsible and dependable. I take my work very serious and am considered an impeccable professional.
