Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
At Carnegie Hall, kids loved my "Ozzie the Oboe" (from Brooklyn), "Flora the Flute" (a Southern Belle), "Viola" (Irish scolder), and "Fiddle Bow Thief" (British Bad Guy)
among many other fun animated characters.
Fluent French helped me book a "Shalimar" spot, as well as the role of a Parisienne (with Jacques Pepin as my husband) on "Ugly Betty".
My solo recording of "Fall on Your Knees", an Oprah-choice best-seller for Highbridge Audio used accents from Gaelic to Arabic for tens of characters, old and young, male and female.
For a Boston Museum guide (Acoustiguide), I played a literary character who ages from 20 to 70!
My Voice Experience
Besides years of recording books (both adult and children's) and museum guides for Highbridge, Acoustiguide, Scholastic, and the Jewish Guild for the Blind, I have many voiceover tv commercials to my credit, including "Liquid Tide", "Honey Bunches of Oats", "Nuveen", "Motrin IB", "Kix", etc.
I narrate the Walkabout NY series and two recent NYC audio tours. At Carnegie Hall, for 5 years ('til 2008), I hosted 52 concerts per year in which I narrated stories, and voiced the characters for an animated series.
My credits include film looping ("Bad News Bears", "Red Betsy", etc.) and many ESL recordings.
My Training
At U of Md., I majored in languages before transferring to the Sorbonne in Paris.
Five years of recording books for the blind, and the Library of Congress (@Jewish Guild) propelled me into the commercial book recording world (adult and children's)
Writing and recording my Walkabout NY series taught me about all sides of the Audio production experience.
My voice training in LA (w/Nate Lam), and in NYC (w/ Deborah Maher) serve me well in audio work.

Additional Skills
My eclectic background serves me well as an actress. I worked my way through the Sorbonne in Paris with an unusual assortment of jobs...then my fluent French helped me to book a Shalimar perfume spot back in NY. My recurring role as Glynn, the La Maze instructor on "As the World Turns", was due in part to my years of teaching pregnancy classes in NYC. Recording books, especially children's books, led me directly to Carnegie Hall, where, for 5 years, I hosted and narrated (including singing and performing animated character voices) more than 250 concerts. Barnes & Noble hosted an author night of "Walkabout NY", my own researched, written, and recorded audio tour of lower Manhattan, recently published on "Playaway"! So from co-starring with AnnMargret in "Third Watch" to playing straight man to Conan O'Brien on "Comedy Central" to being Marie Chainet on "Ugly Betty" and portraying a vast array of characters in more than 120 commercials, my life continues to be a fun synthesis of work and play.
