My Voice Experience

Officially this is my first step towards voice over work. However, I have done studio work as a lead vocalist, I have taken acting classes, and have always naturally been able to adapt to characters and stories. As a child I used to put a unique spin on most of my favorite fairy tales. It was when my mother heard me turn the story of Snow White into a Jamaican fairytale that she rushed me to the nearest acting coach. I figure this is a talent, being able to sing and mimmic people just by hearing them is not something everyone can do. Unaware until recently of how to get into the voice over business I thought this was something, I would only be able to share with my family and friends. I have been in small plays, I have experience in a recording studio and with reading scripts.

Additional Skills

I have worked with children all of my adult life, I think that is pretty good training for any field. It keeps you youthful, working with a diverse population also exposes you to new things that are useful to reflect upon when reading a script, or trying to connect with a character. Working with a large population of people keeps you connected to the audience. it's like having an inside track you know what people are looking for and what they like. What makes them smile and what will kepp them coming back for more. There is nothing worse than trying to guess at what your audience wants. I also just started a writting career, i just completed my first novel and am currently working on my first synopses for a television show.
