My Training

I studied vocal performance at Portland State Universtiy with David Jimerson and received a BA in 1993. Before that I sudied vocal performance at Bosie State University for one semester. I 1991 I attended National Broadcasting school concurrent with getting my BA.

"Vocal Performance' means I was a music major with a focus on opera and classical music. Virtually all the training that has to do with creating and delivering a beautiful sound, as well as what's needed for emotional presence, can be directly applied to the particular demands of voiceovers. The intent with both fields is essentially the same: sell something. And I don't mean to be crass - your audience WANTS to be moved, WANTS to believe, WANTS to be pulled in and buy. I have live stage experience, which is extremely demanding - you only get one chance to make your delivery and sell the audience.
