Voice Description
I would describe my voice as rounded rather than smooth. My own accent is British with little regional influence, although I have a good ear for voices and I'm able to 'put on' a variety of accents from across the globe. Similarly, I can 'characterise' my voice to give additional shape. I'm not one of those boring people you meet in life who use silly voices to try and gain favour, but someone who recognises that my voice can be manipulated to add meaning and emphasis.

My Voice Experience
Back in 1978 (living in Britain) I sang in a punk band - The Panic. Everyone in Britain, was in a punk band in the late seventies. I'm now a school teacher and still enjoy using my voice to help convey a message and meaning in lessons, although I don't scream about bringing down the establishment as I did in the band. I'll be honest I've not any real experience of voice over work but I know that my voice could be a rich source of entertainment with the variety of characterisations I'm capable of conjuring up.
My Training
I have not received any formal training, but using my voice is central to my job as a teacher and I pride myself upon being able to speak with excellent clarity.
As I mentioned I used my 'singing' voice in my youth and have never been afraid to use it.

Additional Skills
Speaking clearly and audible is a vital part of my job as a school teacher. Whether the children choose to listen is another matter but I know that, using a measured controlled voice definitely conveys authority without having to shout.
