Voice Description

I am a 30yo male with a warm, caring voice in the baritone range. I worked in radio for several years, as an announcer and as voice talent for commercials I produced. I have done the excited announcer (a little over the top), the smooth professional for commercials, and many character voices. I also did a range of character voices for an Anime series. Most of my character voices are either fun and youthful, strange and silly, or very creepy. I also can do deep and sensuous voices for the right character.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I have the ability to imitate most accents that I hear, but the three I do best are French, Italian and German. They are very generic accents, but I have studied how to pronounce each of those languages, and can read them flawlessly (though I might not understand it). I can also imitate the Cockney dialect, and with enough practice, a London accent, as well as a more refined British accent (though I'm not sure of the region). Right now I am studying the Brooklyn accent for the local production of West Side Story. I have played feeble old men, excited young men, even the Tin Man. I have played many creepy roles and many guy next door roles.

My Voice Experience

Most of my voice over experience comes from working at WWMC-FM in Lynchburg, VA for 5 years. I started as a radio personality, and worked my way onto the management team, where I produced many on-air spots for our sponsors. My most notable spots were the "Scaremare" spots, in which I voiced a very creepy announcer. This often involved writing copy for the spots, and many of them I had to voice myself. This also honed my audio production skills. In addition, I worked for AMVF Productions as an editor/recording technician. This gave me the opportunity to voice a few small projects, but more importantly gave me the opportunity to voice direct recording sessions with talent.

I am also very active in the theater community, which has given me many opportunities to experiment with several different types of voices. I have been the Mikado of Japan, a headwaiter with a snobby attitude, Custus the cowboy, the Mysterious Man (Into the Woods), A High Priest, a mid-american farmer, a Saudi-Arabian taxi driver, a Steward, a Book, a drunk villager, a pirate, Edward Rutledge - a South Carolina gentleman, Signor Pirelli - an Irishman pretending to be Italian, Hot Blades Harry - a cool, but impetuous character, Monsieur D'Arque - the creepy old asylum owner, the Bishop of Basingstoke - a lecherous old man, the Spider - a silent, cold, hard pimp from the London gutters, and the Tin Man - well, everyone knows who the Tin Man is.
