Voice Description

My voice is "different." I've been a professional announcer and newscaster for 34 years, and with that comes smoothness and mellowness. But it is not (sigh) the deep booming voice of Orson Welles or James Earl Jones. In fact, the closest comparison I can make is Michael Prichard, the Audio Books reader. One employer compared me to ABC newsman Bob Trout...but who remembers Bob Trout?

My Voice Experience

Over thirty years in not only broadcasting but also preaching in Unitarian Universalist pulpits, theatre acting (and one role in a TERRIBLY obscure film) have given me the ability to project whatever emotions are required: the formaility of newscasting, the intimacy of narration, or the varied requirements of dialogue.

My Training

"Training" would be basically a repeat of "experience." It's worth mentioning, however, thelive broadcasting, preaching and acting have made me a one- (at most two-) take performer.
