Voice Description

I have a naturally expressive voice with the ability to reflect emotion relatively effortlessly. I have a particular ability to use a high pitched voice (it is challenging for me to use a low pitch). My voice can change from warm and friendly to elegant and professional to sexy. I can speak three languages. English is my native language and although I grew up in South Africa my accent is not strong. I am of british decent and as such have a slight twist in my accent (which often makes it hard to know where I am from) that I can play around with where necessary. I also learned to speak afrikaans (not my strong point but workable) and have been living in Portugal for 8 years and often receive compliments about my accent being excellent. I pick up accents very easily and only need listen to it for a while to mimic it with precision.

I have no formal voice over experience, however have always performed in informal settings at parties, at school and in just about any situation that presents itself (for example on voicemail services for many of my friends and family).

Again I have no formal training in this area. My training is in Psychology and as such I have studied a little about communication.

Additional Skills

Through living in a foreign country far away from family and friends, I have picked up a nack for telephonic communication. My voice has become the lifeline to my friends and family. I would compare it to a blind persons sense of touch, smell and hearing hightening due to the inability to see.

Due to my psychological background, I believe I have the ability to read a script and pick up the indirect messages that are to be relayed and as such understand easily what is expected from me.

I have worked in many environments with people from different cultures within varied levels of society. I have been a child, teenager, young adult, teacher, supervisor, manager, director, girlfriend, wife and mother. This to me is all the experience I would need to perform as a voiceover in any of the above or related roles.
