Voice Description

First, and foremost, I believe my voice would be best suited for work on cartoon projects, because it can go from one extreme to the next. For documentary work it is hypnotic, calculated and coordinated, with strong emphasis on proper pronunciations and annunciation. I can imitate voices and sound effects, as well as imitating dialects and accents. I also can create sound effects vocally, beatbox (create music, complete with drums, with my voice), and sing. I can speak and understand several languages basically, and am very proficient in reading them with authentic accents (i.e. Japanese, French, Spanish, German, English).

My Voice Experience

I didn't have any 'professional' experience before my first voice over job from voice 123. However, I was given the opportunity to do a recording for a band and it turned out to be a great success. Everyone was shocked to learn it was my first professional VO job, and I know I gave them far beyond what they were expecting! Not only was it an excellent experience as far as going to a recording studio, but the attitudes and constructive critisicm they offered really gave my confidence a boost - as well as laughing at all of my funny voices/humour; it turns out I'm not a complete nut afterall (could have fooled me :))!

My Training

I've learned to shape my voice both by imitation and rehearsal, and being aware of the reaction it illicits in those around me. I always push myself to create more voices. I also learn by analyzing the speech of those I come into contact with day to day (not drawing attention to this fact, I hope).
