My Voice Experience

I sang in a cover band for the better part of a decade.Professionally.I state above my ability to mimic.I can go from Elvis Presley to Led Zeppelin and many points between.That helps me switch voice acting character with such ease.Ah,but acting is/was my true passion.Shakespeare to Sam Shepard.I also helped hone my chops at South Coast Repertory in OC Ca. A nine week conservatory,like living in heaven for an entire summer.I have done two major VO gigs,one for Michelob ,Two VO's for Sony TV ads and one for Omega 3 fish oil,yum
IN 2005 -2006 I received,(and paid dearly for )intense one on one training for commercial VO,culminating with an excellent State of the Art Demo CD.Kate Mcllanahan was/is my coach,and she was brutal and the best instructor I could ever hope for.I've had one of the rich ,colorful lives, doing so many things,and held so many jobs I'm like patchwork quilt.I know I can do this.I've the gift and the follow through.Get me out there.I can do this!

My Training

I think I pretty much exhausted this part in the space above.
I always loved the performing arts though.I saw the Beatles change the world in real time.My Mom helped me recognize every screen actor/actress from Chaplain and Pickford to Bogart ,Bacall,to Newman and Joanne Woodward.I took tap and ballet in elem
ntary school.By the time I entered High School I saw acting and singing,to dance as my motivation for happiness and a good (though some think impossible) career choice.
I could ramble on about my detour at sex,drugs,and rock'nroll,but here I am.
Clean,and sober,(since 1988) still with the dream,talent ,passion and a wonderful family.Two boys 6 and 20 months,and my own Bacall:my wife,Tess.

My Studio Equipment

Have access to a studio in Davenport Iowa,owned by a friend in the business.It's a 50 minute drive from here in North Liberty.He runs IDSN and Source Connect.I can count on him to 99% run a gig with 24 hours notice.He has run a session with only a few hours lead time.
Here at my home I'm running a Tascam US-144 USB 2.0Audio/MIDI Interface.This allows me to record auditions,and send them via mp3 file directly to the client or agency.I can record gigs on this,however the recording would be "dry"without effects,like reverb,for example,and the client could add them as seen fit.

I also have a wealth of real life experience on which to draw,as relates to my ability to portray character and emotion
