My Voice Experience
I am doing voice over job from 1995. I did a voice over job in June/July 2008 for NHS England's 30 minutes short film titled: LIFE IS A JOURNEY- a drama on diabetes, food and exercise. On next 11th of August (09) I have been booked by NHS Scotland to do voice over for a docu-film they are producing on cancer.
At present I am holding the post of the General Secretary (through election for the period of 2008-09) of LONDON BANGLA PRESS CLUB, the umbrella organisation of all 10 Bengali newsweeklies and 4 Bengali television channels operating in the UK.
I am the special correspondent of JANOMOT-the oldest Bengali newsweekly in the UK.
I had been working in the BANGLA TV as the Head of News from 2001-2003, thereafter I joined VECTONE TV in Canary Wharf, London as the Head of News. I also performed as a newscater in Bangla TV.
While I was a student of the University of Chittagong, I had been conducting the university students programme on the local branch of the state run radio (1972-75).
My Training
I have obtained the B.A. honours degree in Bengali Language and Literature from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh in 1976.
I had attended drama and recitation classess when I was studying in college and university where I learned about doing voice overs.
My training as a singer at an early age had also contributed to my knowledge about doing voice over.
I am regularly giving voice over to a lot of commercials, infomercials and announcements in UK television channels.

Additional Skills
For the last ten years I have been performing as a translator and an interpreter as well as a voice over artist in various settings in the UK. I am a registered interpreter of Newham Council's (East London) Language Shop and am doing translation for NHS England and NHS Scotland and different organisations including Tower Hamlets Council and some other private firms.I have the experience of interpreting at Family Court in Holborn, London. I did voice over for NHS England 30 minutes short film titled: LIFE IS A JOURNEY- a drama on diabetes, food and exercise.
As a professional journalist, I have to do interpreting and translation quite often.
I do present a weekly live programme (the Newspaper Review programme) on BANGLA TV (London) every Saturday morning (from 11am to 12pm).
I had been working in the BANGLA TV as the Head of News from 2001-2003, thereafter I joined VECTONE TV in Canary Wharf, London as the Head of News. I also performed as a newscater in Bangla TV.
Before my coming to the UK, I was a correspondent (stringer) of BBC Bengali Radio Service in Sylhet, Bangladesh (1995-2000). For the same period, I had also acted as the Sylhet correspondent (stringer) of REUTERS news agency.
I have started my career as a journalist in Sylhet, Bangladesh and eventually I became the Executive Editor of the most circulated local daily (The Daily Sylheter Dak-The Sylhet Post) wherefrom I moved to the UK in 2000.
