Voice Description

My voice can be described as deep and authoritative, as well as the classic announcer voice. It can be the deep, rich sexiness of a soul radio station, or the boisterous call of a ring announcer. It is a voice that is well recieved in situations such as company or safety narrations and presentations. This voice also functions well in Spanish with the same seaoned tones. I am also able to vary my voice for character acting found in video games, animated features, or commercials with old english, spanish, german, asian, and many other "accents".

My Voice Experience

My vocal career began as a disc jockey working for free at a fledgeling radio station in New Mexico. I was taught the secrets of proper diction and the uses of inflection to elicit emotional responses in the listener. I became aware of how well I could adapt my voice to whatever project or commercial I was working on...but still...I worked for free. I was finally hired by a company called Vista Adverting Group...these guys DID pay me! There at vista I worked with foley and different styles of voices and also sharpened my character and spanish voice talent. My voice appeared on many projects, such as a United Way campaign that feature a deep soulful cultured voice, A project called Nut Buddy featuring a fast talking higher pitched eastern dialect, many oilfield safety product and equipment presentations that were narrated by an authoritative technical but evocative voice. I have been featured in many local productions, as well as a national campaign for a retirement community.

My Training

As I have mentioned before, my training has alll been informal and by the fires of experience. I have also added to my talent by becoming an accomplished script writer and being involved in all aspects of the voice over process.

Additional Skills

I am very into comedy and have done som,e stand-up in local clubs. To add to the comedic nature of my life, I am also an accomplished harmonica player and have played with many local bands and also played on a few tracks for a demo cd done by an up and coming nashville singer, Jared Ashley. I have learned to look over a script and adapt to it quickly. And although I respect the composers work, I am not bashful about suggesting any changes that might improve the over all product.
