MO BROWN Bio
Mo Brown is a professional actor, dancer, radio personality and voice over artist based in New York City. Shes known as much for her indomitable personality, explosive energy, sparkling intelligence and relentless work ethic (all credited to her Jamaican ancestry) as she is for her stunning beauty. Brown has been showcased on radio broadcasts (both in studio and on location), on the Off-Broadway stage, in commercials and in music videos. Mo Brown graduated with honors from Long Island University with a bachelors degree in Theater Arts and Speech Communications in 2005. Since then, Brown has just finished performing in east coast tour with The Classical Theatre Of Harlem. She has earned rave notices (including from the New York Times) for her performance in the role of Lily under the direction of Alfred Preisser, in the Classical Theatre of Harlems 2006 production of Melvin Van Peebles Aint Supposed to Die a Natural Death. She has also earned a loyal and rapidly growing fan base as the co-host of Live From Da Yard, a two-hour nationally syndicated show for college radio stations created by Sirius Satellite Radio producer Chris Mercado and popular host and hip-hop personality Keith Suede DosReis Jr.
Brown has training at the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater as a student at New Yorks Professional Performing Arts High School. Brown has performed in numerous stage productions all over New York City.
As a student on Long Island Universitys Brooklyn campus, Brown added the roles of radio personality and live event host to her repertoire. She joined the staff of WLIU 88.1 FM and soon became the host of one of the campus radio stations most popular programs, The Diva Brown Show, simulcast on Brooklyn Cable Access Television (BCAT). Brown hosted the music and call-in show for three years and also served as WLIUs promotion director. Mo Brown hosts live events on campus, such as talent competitions and live concert performances. In addition to her activities on campus, Brown landed a coveted internship with the legendary New York hip-hop radio station HOT 97 (WQHT 97.1 FM).
In addition to Aint Supposed to Die . . . Brown has performed in Medea, Shakespeare's Macbeth and a national tour of Romeo and Juliet with the Classical Theatre of Harlem. She has also been cast in commercials (most recently for Nike) and music videos (Tami Chynns Evil Woman directed by Tim Naylor and Nadia Sampson). Mo Brown is featured in Marie Claire magazine's May 05 issue as a Commercial Model.
