Voice Description

I am frequently told I have a "great" voice. People often ask me if I do voice work or say that I should. My students (I am a teacher) tell me that they love it when I read texts aloud -- they say they understand the literature much better when I read it to them, and regularly advise me to record books on tape. Recently, students have noted the clarity of my enunciation as well as the soothing quality of my voice. They have commented more than once that I could read anything and make it sound good. My voice can project a purring, velvety quality as well as an alto clarity.

Although I have no formal voice over experience, I have fifteen years of daily voice experience as a teacher of high school English. I lecture, read excerpts from all manner of literature, cajole, query, interrogate, reprimand, encourage and generally run the gamut of intonations and timbres of voice. I am flexible, enthusiastic, and a quick study. I read fluently, clearly, and with feeling. I am also a lawyer and have presented legal arguments to judges as well as opposing counsel -- in an appropriately persuasive yet professional voice. I have always been interested in voice work and enjoy reading virtually anything and everything aloud.
