Mo Brown is professional actor, performing artist, radio personality, voice-over artist as well as film director and producer based in New York City. Brown’s most recent work include Suga Productions’ direction and production of the music videos 'Way Of Escape' by artist Terri Cann, and ' ALL I'. Brown has also conceived, directed, co-produced and co-wrote the short film ‘Sealed’, nominated for the New York Independent Film’s Best Independent Films of 2009, and winner of the LA Reel Film Festival in experimental films. Suga Productions was founded by Mo Brown and has been featured in XIMagazine, CNNiReport, GotMusicOnline, and others to name. Mo Brown can be found on-stage, in film, commercials, music videos and on radio broadcasts. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, she graduated with honors from Long Island University with a bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts and Speech Communications. Since then, Brown has performed with film pioneer Melvin Van Peebles in Sweet Sweetback Bad Ass Song’ in 2009; In the 2007 national tour of Romeo and Juliet and Ain’t Supposed to Die a Natural Death with The Classical Theatre Of Harlem. She has earned rave notices (including from the New York Times, Metro, Black Star News, Starz in Black, and various blog sites.) for her performance in the role of “Lily” under the direction of Alfred Preisser, in the CTH’s 2006 production of Melvin Van Peebles’ Ain’t Supposed to Die a Natural Death. Brown has performed in Medea and Shakespeare’s Macbeth with the Classical Theatre of Harlem. Mo Brown has also worked with ‘The Wiz’s George Faison, web series such as Politically Correct, Lenox Ave, Sealed, is featured in ‘Behold The Swelling Scene’, Love In Zodiac, Kel Spencer’s music Video Uggz to Huggz, Alicia Keys and Alejandro Sanz’ music video ‘Looking For Paradise’ and others to name. Currently Brown is in production for the movie ‘Elliot Loves’ Dir. Gary Terracino.
Mo Brown has earned a loyal and rapidly growing fan base and has been blazing the airwaves on 'The Diva Brown Show' on iTunes Radio, Voice Overs as well as on her Podcast mobrownsuga.podomatic. Brown hosts major NYC LIVE Events such as The SoundCheck Live, Fashion Shows, Concerts, Mic Check Wednesdays at The Time Sq. Arts Center and others to name.
