Voice Description
For a documentary, I feel that my voice is engaging, firm, deliberate, warm, and articulant.
For commercials, My voice is inspired by color, music and the overall tone of the product. Though not having a completely deep voice, the highs and lowes of an effective commercial can be captured to refect and
deliver a complete visual and voice product.

My Voice Experience
Pratically no experienc. After being layed-off from an areo space company in 1980, I needed money and I needed it, like yesterday. I walked in a radio station (Radiovision/AM 1550 KXOJ), in Tulsa, Oklahoma and gave a demo to the station manager. After listening, he put me on the air within the same hour that I walked in. Three months later, he put me on Morning-Drive. The station manager later told me, 'There's no black person on the air, in Oklahoma that sounds like you'.
I did a few commercials for a few local department store chains like, Target and Sears (they ask for me by name). The staions ratings went up about five points during my six months. After a brief run, I quit. The pressure from the 10 and 15 year radio veterans of the station, was too much. They thought that I climbed the latter too fast.
My Training
To answer your question, no training. During my Navy years, the ship's captain assigned me to CCTV. There, I became the ships' weatherman during West-Pac of '87. Broadcasting every night to the ship's company. The Commander of CCTV, had me do a voiceover for the AV-8 Herier/Jumpjet to promote the sell of the jet the Australia.
