Voice Description
The range of my voice varies from a strong deep base to an warm exhuberant baratone, depending on the context and content of the message. At times, I can synchopate my voice to convey the African-American dialect and experience of the South, and I can articulate my words to speak the "King's English" with annunciations on syllables and sounds that blend within the geographic culture. Although English is my native tongue, I do read and speak Spanish at an intermediate level that can be clearly understood and with accentuations that native South American speakers have complimented me on.

My Voice Experience
I haven't begun to use my voice for monetary reward; however, I have sang spiritual songs in churches and in auditoriums that highlight my range and resonate the struggle and suffering of our Lord Jesus and of the struggles of the African-American people. For example, songs that fit my voice well: Go Down Moses, The Ole Rugged Cross, Swing Lo', Sweet Chariot, Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art, etc. I also sang the role of the bass actor in the play "South Pacific" in high school , and performed Ole Man River and The Impossible Dream in junior high.
My Training
I had a few voice lessons in high school to help me better undertand diction and breathing from my diaphram. Since then, I've remained conscious of the need to open my mouth, control my breathing, and speak so I can be heard. This training I used in my role as a technical instructor to project my voice around the classroom. I also used this trainnig when reading stories to my children and to their classmates during their early years of life.
As for learning about doing voice overs, Disney and Geico commercials have provided good examples of the studio environment and types of actors and people performing this art.
My Studio Equipment
I have a Tube Pac professional preamp/compressor, high-quality condensor mic, USP mic, stands, Audacity
Additional Skills
As a writer, I know the value of rhythm and conciseness when speaking and writing. I also know the value of emotion to convey a message or emphasize a point. I feel that this language awareness and understanding of drama will help make me a sought-after voice over artist.
