My Voice Experience

When you learn that twenty one year old Mikki Taylor has already racked up over 1,000 performances, you've got to wonder when she got started. It was at age 6 that Mikki started wowing audiences with her natural talent. Classical training began at age 10, where she gained versatility and expertise in vocal performance, acting, dance, modeling, voice overs, songwriting and ventriloquism, and even has her voice in a toy. She has always appealed to diverse audiences by performing pop, R&B, country, 40's medleys, Broadway, and opera numbers. Mikki has opened for Ricochet, Lone star, Nicolette Larsen, Michael Peterson, Joe Nichols, Three Dog Night, Six wire, Phil Vassar and coming in March for Rick Derringer. With a 4-octave vocal range, her style is often compared to the tender beauty of Patsy Cline with the power vocals of Celine Dion. In the past three years Mikki's focus had turned to the country and blues scene. In September 2002, she recorded a demo in Nashville produced by four-time Grammy nominated country singer/songwriter David Frizzell. While there, she rubbed shoulders with Dwayne Blackwell, who wrote many songs including Garth Brooks "I've Got Friends In Low Places". Currently Mikki' is performing as a solo artist, as a duo with Michael Hastings doing everything from top forty to country and backed by her new band who are focusing on their own style of music, from country rock to blues. With their driving energy and riveting three part harmonies, Mikki's performances are amazingly reaching new heights.
