My Voice Experience

I was in radio for 5 years. Half of that time was @ a Country station in the middle of nowhere in Kansas with a full-time airshift and the other half @ one of the top Rock stations in the country; 98 KUPD FM in Phoenix. I also did production work for the Country station which included various spots for local businesses, which included copywriting. Newscasts were also a part of the job. I also did voice-over work for the local TV station, KSNG. I was offered a job as Music Director of a nightclub while working @ the Country station and accepted it. I worked mainly as a DJ during Happy Hours and nights. I also trained and managed other DJs.

At KUPD, I had a regular weekend airshift which was playing music, working phones and holding live, on-air contests. I would fill in for jocks on vacation, etc.

My Training

Attended Brown Institute of Broadcasting in Minneapolis, MN in 1985 and graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism in 1986. From there, my skills were honed simply from doing regular radio airshifts and production.
