My Voice Experience
Before I got into Voice Acting, I started with Theater as a kid in Repertory Philippines in 1990.
I took part in plays such as The King and I (1990), The Fiddler on The Roof(1992), Camelot (Tom of Warwick- 1997), and a Centennial tribute to Emilio Agunialdo known as Miong(1999).
As for voice acting, I started out during my college days. Often hearing feedback from professors regarding my voice, I offered to voice over for other students' projects for video and sound classes.
One of my professors at the time suggested becoming a voice talent as a sideline. I gave it a go since I have fun doing it anyway.
The first agency I went to was Hit Productions in 2007... and my first ad was for a Telephone Service company called BayanTel. The promotion was for the pre-paid telephone service wherein I was to play as a nervous suitor trying to confess his feelings to a significant other over the phone. The conflict was time running out as there was a countdown being announced as my character was trying to let everything out... until the counter hit zero and the call got cut-off.
Since it was my first time, I think it coincided with the theme since I was a nervous wreck myself.
There was also another TVC I did for Jollibee under the same agency which was the promotion of the Transformers No Slip, No Drip Waterbottles which was in preparation for the first Transformers movie. I used a husky-low voice (somehow to close to if not exactly Peter Cullen's voice for Optimus Prime)
In 2008, I worked for a local online game-publishing company called IP E-Games, a subsidiary of Intellectual Property Ventures Group as a Community Game Master and as well as voiced over for the video presentations for games such as Dragonica Online, and Runes of Magic and for the TVC and Radio ads for their culminating event known as Domination.
At present, I'm currently a talent under Noisy Neighbors, a local studio. My first project with them was for Shakey's Pizza. The ad was for a promotion involving a raffle with a car as a grand prize. The project itself was a conversational approach so I used a casual voice as a 21-25 year old male, speaking in English...
