Voice Description

I have a baritone/bass voice which in its natural state is good for deep narrative voices in audiobooks or fatherly/friendly neighbor tones, but I can also use it to sound sexy or fun for commercial work. I have a natural slight midwestern accent as I'm from Ohio, but it is tempered with education and training. My voice is very malleable for its range and can go fairly high and low without sounding strained, and I use that ability to do an array of character voices.

My Voice Experience

A large portion of my recorded voice experience comes from the many ADR sessions I've done for various film projects that I have worked on. Far too many times the recorded audio was in some way unusable, so I found myself in a booth rerecording. I have done the voice for several commercials and a few cartoons. I've also done several promos for new products, instructional videos, and I'm currently working on an audiobook. Other than that my voice experience has been primarily in a live setting. I've done many book readings and read as a narrator in several staged readings, as well as having extensive acting experience both on stage and on camera.

My Studio Equipment

My personal studio has an AT2020 Condenser Microphone with pop filter and sound baffles in the room to reduce ambient noise. I record using Audacity and am skilled in its use.

Additional Skills

I've worked in IT for seven years, and that includes a strong computer science background, so I have no problem working with new recording software and optimizing my output. I've also been working professionally as a stage and screen actor since 2006, so my experience with copy (whether dramatic, commercial, training videos, etc) is extensive.
