My Voice Experience
I'm a former radio broadcaster who began his career in my native Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1976. I've always had a fondness for production, so writing copy and cutting ads was a constant , even when I moved to North Carolina in 1981 and began working for WSRC-AM in Durham, later followed by WLLE-AM in Raleigh, and WAUG-AM in Raleigh.
I left radio in 2000 (doing news), but I still got calls to do v/o and promo work for WRAL-TV (King Holiday); Carolina Power & Light (1998 Awards presentation video); a WUNC-TV documentary narration about Blues in North Carolina; tribute videos for administrators at Shaw University and NC State University; public service announcement about alcohol-free prom nights; movie trailer for Tony Brown Productions' "The White Girl" and much, much more.
My Training
Brooklyn College, NY - 1973 - 75 (WBCR-AM)
Medgar Evers College, NY - 1976 - 1980 - (WNYE-FM)
WSRC-AM, NC - 1981-83
WLLE-AM, NC - 1984-1988, 1990-1997
WAUG-AM, NC - 1988-1990, 1998-2000
Beyond commercial and PSA v/o's, I co-produced/hosted a public affairs program, "NBC-17 News At Issue" from 1999-2007 on WNCN-TV in Raleigh, NC (NBC-Uni affiiiate).
In 2000, I wrote, produced and narrated two five-part series for NBC-17 News at 6 p.m. - "Why Johnny's Got A Gun," and "And Still They Rise."
I'm in the process of writing, producing and narrating a children's video about baby finches.
I've also produced several You Tube videos about the Barack Obama presidential campaign in North Carolina.
