My Voice Experience

I work as a professional free-lance musician and as a data manager for an educational company. Several months ago, I was asked if I might be interested in being one of the voices for our online "Teachlet" curriculum. As my versatility became apparent to the curriculum department, they offered me a contract to do voice-over work for them at a much higher rate than I was earning as a data manager.
Although I have little experience performing as a voice actor, I have many years of performance experience both on stage and in the recording studio as a professional French hornist, and I believe that the conservatory training I received as a musician (with a huge emphasis on attention to nuances of sound) very much carries over into voice acting, and has enabled me to land this current work.

My Training

My formal training is in music performance as a French hornist, with training in voice (tenor) and piano as well.
I have no formal acting training (voice, or otherwise), but grew up in an extremely diverse area, with most of my good friends being of foreign birth. Although Spanish is the only language other than English that I am conversant in, I took great interst in learning how to pronounce my friends' languages, and they were generally amazed at how much like a native speaker I was able to sound, though I did not necessarily know what I was saying.
