Michael Cook

Storyteller, trustworthy, warm, grandpa, western

Voice Description

I have a unique style that lends itself well to narrations and storytelling types of projects. There's a slight touch of a western accent to it and it is rich and deep, giving my delivery a warm, friendly and trustworthy feel. I have done many western themed and Mexican restaurants, from laid back to feisty! I can be the beloved Grandpa, or the wise old owl.

My Voice Experience

One of my favorite projects was doing a year long series for CTV in Saskatchewan, Canada. These were voice overs for a series of vignettes celebrating their centenial. Each was a story about an historic person or place and the client was very pleased with my interpretation of these scipts. Another series I did was for the Black Gold Casino in Oklahoma. The campaign airs on TV and Radio and my voice, in the character of "The Baron," is heard inside the casino for PA announcements. This series won local broadcast awards (Addy's) for creativity and effectiveness. Another series for a giant department store, Friedman's in Georgia has successfully run for over a year and is still going strong. I have been doing voice acting and commercial work for 15 years serving clients all over the world.

My Training

I am a trained broadcaster, having graduated from The Ron Baily School of Broadcasting i Seattle in 1984. Since then I have worked in all facets of the broadcast industry including on-air, commercial production, copywriting and engineering. Prior to this I was a professional musician for more than 20 years.
