Voice Description

My voice is deep, it can sound authoritarian and serious, or warm, inviting, sexy and a little sarcastic. I think my voice would be more suited to narrations and presentations, but I have heard voices of my type used for spots for movies and television shows.

My Voice Experience

I have little or no experience in voice over work, I am a teacher by profession, so I have a voice that projects. I've been a sports fan for a number of years, I started calling a radio talk show on a regular basis. I became sort of a regular on a couple shows and they began using exerpts of my calls as the bumpers for advertisements for the shows. My exposure on these shows led to an opportunity to do a "man on the street" interview for a cable station in Toronto, Ontario. I may possibly do work for this station or some of the radio stations in the future.

My Training

I have a bachelor of arts in history, a certification in Social Studies Education (in preparation for becoming a teacher) and I am currently finishing up a master's degree in History at Buffalo State College. I took a few courses that were introductory for being a broadcast major, but most of my experience would be related to speaking in front of the class in education classes, during student teaching situations and making presentations in front of peers in graduate classes.
