Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

My natural accent is RP but having grown up in Norwich I can do a strong Norfolk accent accent amoungst others including:

American Southern States, Australian, Cockney, East Anglian, East European, Liverpool, London, Norfolk, Norwich, RP, Standard American, Texas, West Country.

My Voice Experience

My earlier work in a recording studio began singing in the band Night Train and was an excellent way to gain experience in this environment.

Since then directors keep telling me that my voice work is one of my strongest skills and during my time at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts I had the opportunity to present my own internal radio show.

I have also worked with Marilyn Le Conte doing short radio play extracts including Susie in 'Gulp' & Kyra from 'Skylight' and recorded voice overs for Rapture TV.

My Training

I graduated from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts with a 1st class BA Hons degree in Acting.

During my Acting training we studied voice over work and Radio drama & had access to the recording suites.

My voice coaches have included Terry Besson (LIPA, RSC, Voice Lab) & Lise Olson, (RWCMD, LIPA, West End). I have also received acting coaching from Nicolas Grace & Linda Bellingham.

With Tracey Marshall who is a licenciate for The Guildhall School of Music and Drama I have studied modules on public speaking, verse and prose, vocal & breath control & sight reading.

I also have a Teaching diploma in speech & drama with the Gulidhall school of Music and drama and have worked as a voice coach myself.

Additional Skills

Sight reading is one of my highly developed skills. As a result of this I have been working closely with Net Curtains Theatre Company and meeting regularly with their writers, to sight read scripts for the ‘Dreamland’ project and this is something I feel very confident doing.

Upon graduating from LIPA with a 1st in BA Hons Acting I was presented with The Philip Holt award for my contribution to the school which was said to be for my tenacity, courage and generosity of spirit. These are qualities that I still try to bring to every acting job and collaboration.

Because of my love of story telling I also work with the charity InterAct Reading Services, which involves reading poems & stories to stroke patients in hospitals and I am due to start running radio projects with participants in strokes clubs in the near future.
