My Voice Experience

OK, so my experience is a little kooky - maybe you should have a seat...I am an actress and supplemented my income for years as a hypnotist. I would record my sessions so my patients could listen to them again at home as they fell asleep, or to start their day with some newly fortified willpower...hence, I would modify my voice to suit the time of day they felt was most effective to use the recording - calming, soft and smooth for evening, energized, invigorated, and confident for the mornings, and so forth.

I would also use different voices, accents and tones to help people identify and separate themselves from that little devil on their shoulder offering them a cigarette or some chocolate cake for breakfast.

People would actually say that they could picture an ugly witch beckoning them to open the fridge door - derived solely from the combination of their imagination and the voice I used.

Eventually I realized that I was creating characters for the personality trait that could help each patient achieve their goal - and it was fun!
