Voice Description

I have a mid-range voice which works particularily well for corporate narrations, which I do with intelligence and authority. Clients often say "you really sound like you know what you are talking about". Call it confidence, credibility, a knowledgeable sound or what ever you will; I can get across your message in a way that people understand and retain, and with a warmth and friendly manner that draws listeners in.

As for commercial work, you won't hear me on a "monster Truck Rally" spot, or a horror film trailer, but I was the promo voice for a major Market TV station for 17 years voicing spots for everything from kids shows to news specials requiring a wide range of intensity, emotions and delivery.

My Voice Experience

I started my career in radio as a staff announcer in a major market and was required to do a "production run" every day in addition to on-air duties. When I moved to news in a TV station I was still in demand by the sales dept for V/O work and over the next few years acquired a reputation for versatility and voice characterizations within the station as well as with outside producers and ad agencies.
Soon my full time broadcasting job was getting in the way of my freelance career and I made the leap to fulltime freelance work. I did a lot of commercials for regional and national advertisers but enjoyed more growth in the corporate side doing narrations and hosting videos on camera for many major national companies: Air Canada, Canada Post, the 2 major railways, the Royal Bank and many more.
I now live in the country but am still active doing corporate, training, tourism and documentary narrations from my well equiped home studio.

My Studio Equipment

I am using a Rode NT-1 condenser mic into a high-end sound card and record with Adobe audition with all the post production tools it offers. I have a small isolation booth for uncolored recordings and a phone patch for direction.
