Voice Description

When I walk into a casting director's office, one of the first things I am often asked if whether I do voiceovers (The answer is a resounding YES!). I think this is because my voice has a real resonance and versatility. My voice can be soothing and warm for audio books or narration, or vivacious, sexy, and sultry for commercial spots. I can go from professional and polished for corporate presentations to light and fun for children's events. Additionally, I am able to do unusual and interesting character voices. Finally, I can do a wide array of accents (See below for list)

My Voice Experience

I am primarily a stage and film actress and the bulk of my experience lies in those arenas. The first time I did a voice-over spot, was in California. I was actually on my lunch hour from the theatre company with which I was then employed. It was supposed to be a half-hour gig. They wound up keeping me for over an hour, having me do different voices for the same PSA. I had to call the office and tell them I was stuck in traffic! That was in 2000 . The compnay was called Related Services.

My Training

I hold a BA in Theatre from West Chester University and had several classes that were about the voice and how best to use that intrument. I have taken classes on speech and regularly do exercises to attempt to maintain a neutral US accent. I also have teleprompter training. Finally, I have a singing range from high tenor to soprano I.
