Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I make up funny voices during comedy shows I perform live. I am best known for my "Jamaican meets Wisconsin" accent. (Yes, that's kind of a joke, I am not super polished with accents). Which could be great if it's for a cartoon character who doesn't have to sound accurate with a certain dialect.

My Voice Experience

Over the years I have been told I have a voice that is very unexpected. The word "scrumtrulescent" comes to mind. I always been flattered but recently realized there might be a market for the savory female voice I speak with. I was voice and/or talent for a number of projects that were for internal use by Washington Mutual, a company I once worked for as a banker. My voice has a natural tone that captures attention of those around me. It is commanding, yet welcoming. I perform stand up comedy and improv sketch comedy in my "spare" time. I recently began getting involved with local media, and recorded my voice to be used in a Volunteer Firefighter recruitment commercial, and have been hired as the spokesperson for retirement benefits by an insurance company in Southern California.

My Training

Life educates me daily. I have never been formally trained for voice over work. To point out that I excelled in my speech and journalism classes in college feels trivial. I used to do the morning announcements in high school, that must count for something!

I'm just a regular woman who works hard, sings well, and has a remarkable speaking voice.

My improv theatre background and musical manner creates versatility for a variety of projects. I have been in public speaking roles for over a decade. I have 11 years of professional corporate experience and business management which gives me an edge as I have embarked into the business of voice over work. I have been a stand up comic officially for the last 9 months. I have a great mix of professional skills and a passion for life that brings energy to any project.
