My Voice Experience

I first fell in love with speaking in junior high and high school. I am a naturally shy individual, but my mother, an educator well versed in the art of public speaking and presenting, taught me the ins and outs of effective stage presence. Effectively prepared, I could steal almost any audience. I soon discovered that I had an extremely powerful and versatile baritone voice, and I fell in love with singing. Coupled with my stage training, I began performing regularly in local talent shows and revues.

My voice is my most prized possession and I use it and preserve it as much as possible. I am a busy local actor involved with a number of theater groups namely the Courthouse Theater Company in West Kingston, RI. I have honed my grasp of accents and dialects in such roles as Boris Kolenkhov in Moss and Hart's "You Can't Take It With You" in 2006 and Vladimir Bogotomir in Andy Hoover's "Set and Drift" in 2007. Since 2005 I have been emcee and host for many of the University of Rhode Island's open mics and musical performances. Since 2006 I have been featured on the University's radio station, WRIU, as its official PSA announcer. I am currently working as a producer and voice actor on a series of podcasts for computer science instruction.

My Studio Equipment

In the studio I have access to, we record directly on a Mac PowerBook G4 running Mac OS X v. 10.5. We use GarageBand and Audacity for recording and mixing. We record with an AKG C3000B Studio Microphone.

I have graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in computer science with a business minor. I am very knowledgeable in these areas. I am an avid reader of music, art, and performing art history.
