My Voice Experience

I came into the voice business from working behind the scenes in television for the firsr five years as a camera-operator, the next ten as an editor/audio engineer. My colleagues mentioned, "You should do the voice-overs."

Well, I'd say it began when I was a child, I was encouraged to speak and sing in front of an audience, so it always was natural for me to communicate with a large number of people. In my TV career, I started doing promos and commercials on various projects for our production company, and for freelance producers doing PSA's and narration on documentaries.

The character voices came from a childhood hunger for a lot of attention. So I began imitating voices and sounds to make the adults laugh. Weirdly enough, it became a habit for me over the years as we as a usefull skill in my editing and audio positions. When deciding on a career during my teens, it never crossed my mind that the people I hear on cartoons did that as a full-time career.

My Training

When I started I learned for other people who performed narration, promos, and looping in the independent film & video community.

When I decided to earn a living at it I took lessons from "Pat Fraley," a guy who has performed character voice for larger companies such as: Mc Donalds, Hanna Barbera, Disney and a whole lot more.

Later I found out that "Rodney Saulsberry" had a course and I learned some more about the business from him. He has also perfomed for a lot of major companies and organizations you probably patronize on a daily basis.

COPYWRITING
For a number of the projects I've worked on I was the writer of the script used in the promotion. A few are included on my V.O. Demos: Cyber Services-Commercial Demo, Loco Moe Studios-Commercial Demo, Cycle World-Commercial Demo, The Ancient Worlds-Trailer Promo Demo.

MUSIC & SOUND
Being the scriptwriter I also: arrange, record, edit & tweek a lot of the sound effects. Having connections with local music talent, I can also provide the music for: sound tracks, jingles, and theme music.

PRODUCING
With all of my skills combined, I also preform the duties of "Producer" for all of the projects I have acted in the capacity of writer/audio engineer.
