Voice Description

My voice has been described as intelligent and authoritative for business spots, warm and natural for more conversational projects, and compelling and dramatic when the project requires.

I also love character work, especially comedic parts--my vocal qualities range from low-key wry and quirky to drunken, eccentric old ladies. I can also play very sophisticated, well-bred, monied roles and then switch to the evil dragon queen with a dark, menacing voice. Thom Pinto once called me a chameleon.

Narration is challenging and enjoyable; it's an opportunity to tell a story which involves the listener in a compelling way. Here is where I smooth out and warm up my voice, to allow the story to tell itself better.

My Voice Experience

I have began working in VoiceOver after being a theatre actor for most of my acting career. I find voiceover exciting and varied and my only regret is that I didn't discover it sooner. Latest gigs were for Roku (radio spots for San Francisco and Chicago markets), Zahler (industrial) and Greenberg Brand Strategy (industrial).

My Training

Ongoing studies at VoicetraxSF with Samantha Paris, Thom Pinto, Mary Lynn Wissner, Bob Bergen, Charlie Adler, Crispin Freeman and many other incredible people in the industry, studying all aspects of voiceover acting styles: commercial, narration, promo, retail, animation, videogame, audio book,etc.

Acting classes at American Conversatory Theatre, Marin Theatre Company, Marin Shakespeare, San Francisco State University, College of Marin. Masters, Dominican University of CA. My literature major has provided me with a treasure trove characters and periods to call upon in my acting life.
