Voice Description

My voice is strong, clear and melodeous. I'm practiced at sounding very professional, and authoritative but my voice can be very sexy or very silly, too. I do many accents and have studied many languages and linguistics. My first language is English, with a natural Irish accent from my father. I studied French for many years and do a french accent very believably. I can also do dialects, southern, Brooklin, cockney, hick, grumpy old person, etc., and sound effects.

My Voice Experience

My mother was a natural mimic and would come home from her job working for different employers speaking in different accents. When I became a teacher of English for foreign students, I spent great energy trying to restrain myself from speaking back to my Asian, Latin, and French students in their accent! Language is fun!
I am a skilled public speaker and people comment frequrently that they enjoy my voice. I've worked in radio broadcasting, and sing locally, non-professionally.
I have been video and audio taped speaking. Copies of these tapes and my current professionally made CD are available. Referrences are available.

My Training

I studied linguistics at the University of Kansas. My graduate studies were in ethno-lilnguistics. I've also had voice lessons and sang in bands and university choras. Radio broadcasting and Public speaking have provided me the most experience. I specialize in voice acting and voice over work.

I've engaged in public speaking in six countries to many hundreds of people from many backrounds over the last six years. I am today a seasoned public speaker.

Additional Skills

As a public speaker with voice talent I have taught conflict resolution and the law. When representing a law enforcement agency my voice is very authoritative. People tend to do what I tell them! I also spend a lot of time working with children, my voice can be very soft and persuasive, with just that hint of authority behind it -- or baby talk! Wadaya want??
