Voice Description
In general my voice is deep and in conversation very relaxing and non-threatening. However I can create a sense of urgency, excitement, and impose a "commanding" feel... someone who is in charge and needs to direct traffic somewhere. On the flip side of the coin I can dispense a calm, cool, collected tone which can easily be cranked up to warm with a simple smile or serious with a drop of my face. I'm 33 so messages that need to be delivered to middle-aged adults, or 20-somethings is easily in my range. I can do a number of jobs from commercial reads, to narrations, to job training soundtracks, or recorded books and on-hold messages. Give me a listen and see how I can work for you!

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
As a native New Yorker (from upstate) I can lay on a New York accent, or New England, or Canadian. Living in the South now makes it easy for me to lay down a "good old boy" accent. I can also impersonate a cantankerous old man, a "Floyd the Barber" type, even a Groucho Marx. And even if you just need a loud, in-your-face, almost drill sergeant effect we can go for that as well.
My Voice Experience
Ever since I was a teenager I was told I had a voice for radio (which is nicer than having a face for radio I suppose). I started my broadcast career in 1995 at the University of Alabama and very quickly provided some dry voice work to the station's imaging. Since then I have spent most of my career in Tampa, Florida, working for classic rock and Hot AC music formats while honing in on sports and news programming on the AM dial. I often rely on my voice to bring entertaining and informative pregame shows for the Tampa Bay Lightning, and when in a pinch will voice a commercial or two for our broadcasts.
My Training
B.A. Communications, University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa May 2000
My Studio Equipment
A Sennheiser re20 is my link to my studio, currently featuring a laptop with both Adobe Audition 2.0 and Pro Tools. Since I have to be mobile, especially with my news and sports reporting, I often use a Zoom H4 or H2 handy recorder for simple voice work and quick turnaround.
Additional Skills
I am also a copywriter and can create a script with a handful of copy points if need be. I can offer a quick turnaround, and I can give you up to three reads in every session with different tones and emphasis if you desire. I'm very flexible and easy to work with, and promise to not make your job a hassle.
