My Voice Experience

I have never done any professional voice over work. I've been told most of my life to do something with my voice, but only decided to take it up recently. Below is a humorous story about my voice.

It was my late senior year of high school in 2004. I was on a school ski trip up in northern Quebec. The last morning we were there and after a long night, me and a buddy of mine decided to hit the slopes once more only to be in time for a massive blizzard. That didn't stop us and we proceeded to the top of the mountain where we couldn't see any more than 8 feet in front of us. We directed ourselves errantly down the wrong path of slopes and ended up at the top of one of the most difficult hills there. After debating who would go first for about 10 minutes, it landed on me when I lost in a deeply serious game of rock-paper-scissors. It turned out the only really hard part about it was the whole visual impairment deal. So, I'm at the bottom of the slope, still can't see anything, and I'm yelling up to my friend to pick up the pace when all of a sudden out of the snow-streaked winds he flies by me, barely grazing me. As I caught up with him both of us are cracking up. He told me if it wasn't for my voice, he wouldn't have seen me and wouldn't have been able to veer away and avoid ending both of our days miserably.

My Training

I'm a music major. I currently operate a recording studio out of my home. Other than personal research on voice training, I have never taken any voice over training courses nor done any official voice over material until I started work on my first demos.

iMac with Logic Pro 9, condenser mic, audio interface, effects processor, 40w studio monitors, 88-key full hammer weight digital piano, mixer. Various instruments.
