Voice Description
I have a soprano female voice that is able to do either reading or singing.
I have been singing as long as I can remember; I have had good vocal instruction over the years, have sung both in choir and also solo. I have had some very nice complements and requests for future performance.
I sing soprano, but have a good enough range to where I have also sung alto when needed. I actually did get an offer to cut an album from a recording manager by the name of Bill Yelton of the group The Lords Troubadours, but was unable to pursue that secondary to the fact I was basically living at work at the ambulance base at the time.
Bill told me that what he liked was that I had a unique voice, and that I could learn the music rapidly. Basically, give me about 20-30 minutes to cram the song, and Im ready to start recording. Although I have never created songs out of thin air myself, I do have the ability to work with a song, adjust words as needed, and often hear a harmony or additional part to put in the music.
I am able to perform solo; I can sing in more of a traditional choir style, or a more modern solo style that is commonly heard in popular music.
I have done some acting before; have very good reading speed, comprehension, skills and speed. I have read books to others; I am also able to read and express to match the content and subject.
I am of both British and West Virginia descent; I am able to do a British voice, but also some Appalachian, hillbilly type styles.
I have used my acting ability to put myself into the needed situation, so that my voice will reflect the current appropriate expression and feeling. With this ability, I can express a wide range of different emotions or styles as needed.

My Training
Was very fortunate to have an excellent vocal teacher in Junior High School; I have since learned that the everyday warm up skills and things she taught us are items that are taught with professional vocal tutors.
Have played and sung music all my life; took music theory in high school, and did consider music major at Kansas University, but ended up in the medical field.
During the limited time I was able to spend with the recording manager, Bill Yelton, I spent some time in his recording studio. I worked on a song he had written, did some recording, and learned how to re-record different parts, singing with my own previous recording. I learned a lot about the music and recording industry in that short time--it was quite a neat experience.
I have played several instruments, and can learn them quickly.
I can learn a song quickly and be ready to perform it, I can also learn an instrument quickly--I have several times taken a band instrument, and was ready to play with the band after three days of "cramming" with a fingering chart and music. I have also written parts for those instruments to put with the rest of the music.
My Studio Equipment
My home studio equipment is somewhat limited due to financial contraints;
I do have an amplifier, a couple of good quality microphones, a couple of basic karaoke machines, and some audio-camera items on my computer.
I am able to desgin and plug in together multiple stereo equipment items--I have the knowledge of how to do it, just haven't had a lot of money to be able to buy the equipment I want.
