My Voice Experience
Do you know how to operate a pallet jack at Aldi supermarkets? I do or at least I can tell you what to do. It was the first time I had ever voiced an idustrial video listening to myself recite the pre recorded script in my ear. What an amazing woman I got to listen to that day. I can tell you all about the homeless problem in Platte County Missouri and tell you why you should adopt a fuzzy four-legged friend from the Parkville animal shelter.
I can sell you a Select Comfort bed, Lazik eye surgery, auto body repair or a train ride, organic food at Natures's Pantry, and health insurance from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City. In fact if you need to lose weight I can set you up. Just mention my name. And if you need to use a phone I'll lend you my AT&T Phone with the nation's fastest broadband network.
My Training
I have been in radio for the past 25 years at KFKF in Kansas City
Prior to KFKF I was the afternoon news anchor at 980 KMBZ in Kansas City.
I am a singer, a soprano thank you and the highlight to my singing career was before 80,000 fans at The Chiefs Packers game at Arrowhead Stadium.
I attended the University of Central Missouri studying Mass Communications and Marketing and held a grade point avg of 3.85
I have been nominated 8 times for the CMA Large Market Personality of the year and was awarded Country Radio Broadcaster of the year in 2003.
My Studio Equipment
I have a sound studio in my home complete with Shure SM58 mic and a 2 X 2 USB Audiobox recording system.
I also use Audio edit 1.5 to edit, process and mix my recordings.
Whenever additional music and sound effects are required, I have ready access to area broadcast studios in the Kansas City area.
Additional Skills
I am dedicated to sound. I have found myself locked in production studios until the project was perfect I love the creativity. However I respect the deadline. Sales excutives and clients alike will tell you if you needed it yesterday I'll deliver it last week. I thrive under pressure.
I never use the first take until I've had takes 3 or 4 to show me the first take was the best. That's the way I roll.
I was voted most dependable by my senior class, funny at the time but it underscores the fact that I'm nothing if not professional. I'm great with people and flexible with last minute changes. It's not about ego it's about the voice.
