I worked as the booth announcer for two local televisions stations. I recorded everything from promotional announcements for programming to commercials for various advertisers. The work was usually straight forward. However, I do have to speak fast and perky sometimes to fit a lot of words into only 30 seconds!
I was once asked to do a sexy voice for a small cruise ship that specialized in diving expeditions. A video of the ship with my voice over it was played in various marine dive shops around the country. Several people called asking if the woman who recorded the voice would be on the ship! They sold out their schedule that year.
I majored in Broadcasting in college. And, I had a radio show on the college station. I left and immediately began "on the job" training by doing voice over work for a local television station.
I have software and a microphone for my computer.
In addition to doing all the voice over work I have done over the years, I have done a good deal of writing. From television commercials and public service announcements to documentaries. I was on the board of directors for a local film company for four years where I did some voice work and co-wrote a screenplay.
