The inception of my voice over experience is a recent event. I had the pleasure of attending a workshop at Kim Crow's studio, in which she gave information and direction to start me on the path of voice acting. Recently, I had the opportunity to be coached by Marc Cashman. It was 10 sessions of pure, practical knowledge. Since then, I have been voicing for websites.
I've recently completed 10 tele-conference sessions with Marc Cashman giving direction and insights. My training also includes a one-on-one work shop with Kim Crow, where she directed and instructed me on the finer points of the voice over enterprise. I've also had a college course for Audio in Media at the Trinidad Junior College in Trinidad, Colorado.
My studio is furnished with a Mac audio work station, using a MBox 2 production system, which includes Protools LE. My microphone is a Rode NT2-A with shock mount. I also have 2 Mackie HR624-MKII monitors and a set of Sony headphones.
It is amazing how professions can blend together. I had at one time worked as a telephone operator, which required 8 hours a day communicating with "clients" without any face-to-face interaction. I then moved on to teaching kindergarten, which included story hour. Holding the attention of the students had to be done with the voice. So voice acting is a great way to expand on my past experiences.
