My Voice Experience

Hi Ya'll! I have 27 years experience in voice over work. Radio Announcer till I realized I was poor so in 1985 I went into radio sales / parttime on air. Radio taught me "theater of the mind." Using sound effects and music beds that fit the script's feeling.
In 1990 went to Cable TV sales and video production. Taught myself how to edit Video by watching the Production Manager editing my clients video ads and asking questions while doing so. I would go to the Cable offices early and practice editing before the Production Manager would come in. One day I was completing from beginning to end a TV ad for a client. The Production Manager walked in saw what I was doing. Asked me how I figured it out. I reminded him of the times I'd ask him questions while editing my Clients TV ads. He responded, don't let anyone know.
Video Shot 12 resorts in 8 days for the Jamaican Tourism Bureau in 1994.
Audio / Video production. Video / Audio Director, Producer,Writing Scripts, videotographer, including sound effects, music beds, etc. I have 2 treatments registerd with the Writers Guild in LA. I also did voice over for Texas Tech University National promotional ad for the University during half time of Football Games. 2005.

My Training

Listening to the pros that have been in the Audio / Video production and voice over business for years. They were willing to teach me because I asked. Taught me voice influxuations and good scotch. Read the King James version of the Bible a lot also. Practicing "vowels" exercises.
On the job training through the years. Working 80 hours a week for years. Worked for a production company for 4 years from 1983- 1987. On hands training all through my years of audio / video production.

I'm working on setting up my own audio / video production room.

Additional Skills

I have consulted local businesses marketing / advertising schedules. And "give me the facts" I'll write the script. Sometimes the idea or facts would be 2 - 3 sentences. And there are times I would come up with creative ideas with the manager / owner of the business right in front of them and taking down their thoughts as well.
If I can see the ad in my mind, I can write it and produce the idea. Or create the Character.
I won in 2003 a Silver Addy award for comedy for a local business Cable Video Campaign ads.
