Voice Description
I am very skilled at providing dry, friendly, even, clear and professional presentations or narrations, as well as giving intimate, close, warm narration to story reading, film and documentary voice over, and menu systems. If you need a deep voice for a movie trailer or to announce guests at a party, I am fully capable.
I have the opportunity to play characters in audio drama ranging from the stern and serious to the bewildered and ridiculous. I can be deadly serious or disbelievingly flippant as necessary, depending on the needs of the script.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
My natural accent is very neutral North American English, but I can range under direction toward a stereotypical Western drawl, variations of French Canadian English, accents approximating several types of UK citizen. Given dialogue to work with, I can express a range of intellects from moron to Nobel prize-winning scientist.
My proximity to Newfoundland and Nova Scotia and position in a bilingual province has given me an ear for the typical accents of the Maritimes/Atlantic Canada region as well.
My Voice Experience
I have been a volunteer with a local radio station for over 12 years, which has offered me considerable experience in being a radio DJ, news announcer, interviewer, commentator, radio personality and comedic voice actor. I was a principal member, writer and voice actor for a series of short audio comedy sketches called WASTED TAPE. I have hosted and engineered my own radio program for 12 years, which has been transformed into my podcast, The WEIRD Show, which has been running since 2006.
I pride myself on not falling into the trap of most radio hosts, having avoided solely developing that "radio sound" by trying numerous different styles of presentation.
I have been a regular contributor to The 9th: Heroescast for 2 years. I have contributed to podcast promos for 12 Volt Theatre's "Down The Road", The Nobilis Erotica Podcast, Giant Gnome Productions.
I produced an audio ad in the Spring of 2009 from the given script to fully engineered and polished version for The University of New Brunswick Computer Science Faculty.
I have been performing in audio drama for 2 years, with a lead role as a police officer from Colorado who is being transformed into a werewolf (Blood Moon), recurring roles in Kelmah (Agapito), Sea of Stars: A Voyage of the Space Cruiser Argo (Narrator), and several guest roles on Buffy Between The Lines (Announcer, Mark Ozma, Bernard Hamilton), Maudelayne (Jinn), Archangel (Grey Ponytail), Saxonboc (nameless Viking), as well as requested contributions to over 15 other podcasts and short audio pieces, including Technorama, Bell's In The Batfy, Geek Of All Trades, and The Jodcast.
For the BrokenSea Audio production "31 days of Halloween 2008", I narrated in full two stories, HP Lovecraft's "The Terrible Old Man" and Eric S. Brown's "Fur and Bullets".
My Training
I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science from The University of New Brunswick, and am currently pursuing my PhD in Computer Science from The University of New Brunswick. In my senior year of high school, I played a central role in an original production written specifically for the cast at hand.
Most of my experience comes from my 12+ years as a volunteer and host at a local campus/community radio station, where I have held several positions and been involved in radio production, audio drama production, radio hosting, interviewing and promo production. I have also had extensive audio editting experience from my involvement in the Buffy Between The Lines audio drama, where I acted as one of the Intermediate and Advanced editors.
My Studio Equipment
My home studio includes:
Microphone: Nady SP-5, Takstar PCM 6100 and MXL990
Computer: iMac (2009) & Windows XP PC
Special Equipment: Xenyx 802 mixer
I also have access to a full recording studio at the CHSR-FM radio station on an as-needed basis.
Additional Skills
I am quite proficient at audio editing and possess the skills, hardware and software to produce a wide variety of audio productions, from audio drama to promos to movie trailer-style dramatic presentations.
