Voice Description

If I had to compare my voice to a musical instrument, I'd likely choose the Bassoon for its smooth, comforting, dulcid tones. My voice has been characterized as friendly, distinctive and perfect for narrative work.

For commercials I generally take on more of a friendly, just-one-of-the-guys tone, while for corporate videos or presentations I typically adopt a more authoritative voice.

My Voice Experience

"Have you ever considered going into radio?" I was hounded by this question and needed to answer it for myself.

To find the answer, I travelled to one of the western-most points in North America - Nome, AK. For a year-and-a-half I wrote, produced and performed radio spots, along with being an on-air radio talent.

My Training

My college minor was public speaking (with a major in marketing).

Subsequently, I've taken two VO classes, a copywriting class, and earned a certificate in public relations.

My Studio Equipment

Currently, I have a basic recording setup: a M-Audio Fast Track Pro, a Shure SM58 dynamic mic and Audio Technica ATHM40FS headphones.

Additional Skills

For the past nine years I've worked at a public relations firm, the last three of which I've been a full-time copy writer. The scope of my work includes feature stories, executive q&a's, press releases, web sites and the occasional video or VO script.
