When she was barely old enough to talk, Marissa Leinart knew she received the gift of speech. Marissa developed her gift by reading out loud every chance she'd get. Under the dining room table, in her closet, in the car or even in the family bathroom where you hear the exploits of Tom Sawyer between flushes. At age 11, Marissa got her first big break. She was chosen to be a radio announcer for a children's show at WBEZ radio in Chicago. She finally had an audience which also freed up the family bathroom!
Marissa continued her endeavors graduating cum laude at Arizona State University in 1988. She landed her first job in television at an NBC affiliate in Anchorage, Alaska where she was a morning anchor and reporter and went on to work in TV stations in California, Tucson and finally Phoenix working for KPHO, Channel 5 as a reporter and anchor. Marissa holds a Master's degree in Business Administration. She was a media consultant and seminar leader for the popular, Soundbites: How Not To Get Bit and No Cents Publicity workshops. She is also the author of two books, The Media Bible and Lessons Learned, Lessons Shared.
A former adjunct professor for broadcast writing at Arizona State University, Marissa currently home schools her two children, Will, age 10 and Linzey, 12. She and her husband Bill live in Arizona.
