Voice Description

Upbeat, professional and young best describe my voice which is native American English with the ability to do midwest, Southern, and British English. My ranges are from fun soprano to low and serious alto sounding voice-overs that are perfect for animations to absolute business presentations. Teen, young adult and slightly more mature adult voice-overs are my specialty with the ability to do fun, funny, angst-ridded, dramatic, dead serious, dreamy and animated characterizations.

My Voice Experience

Over four years of radio voice-overs, tag lines and characterizations are a part of my resume. Playing the nagging wife, the business woman, the bar owner, the flight attendant and the testy teen are a part of what I do best, but I am by no means limited to these characters. I wrote most of the commercials that I voiced, therefore I know how the voice should sound to sell the product. This work was done at two radio stations in Charleston, SC.

My Training

I have a bachelor's degree in Journalism/Advertising, so doing commercial voice-overs were a part of my training which I used in the radio business for over four years. I also sang in two choirs which trained me to project my voice, have breath control and learn how to extend my range and be comfortable with it. I also took an acting class in college.

Additional Skills

My work has always involved extensively using my voice, in radio and informing people about products and services that are to their advantage. Voice projection, strength and confidence are always key to capturing and keeping the listener's attention. I have given talks and speeches to both large and small groups in my work which demands confidence, strength, versatility and a few lines to put people at ease. With these speeches and talks, I have been asked to come back just as I have been successful writing and doing voice-overs. Confidence and knowing the craft keeps the audience's attention.
